I think it's not right for parents to punish their children.Punishment for mistakes is from the old days.In this new world,while the public is paying more and more attention on human rights,punishing children becomes an outdated tradition.I always believe that punishment is an aggressive way of exercising parental authority.It teaches children that they have to obey everything their parents have said.Nevertheless,everyone is a different individual.Even children's value judgements can differ greatly from those of parents'.Everyone is equal but no one is perfect.Unless the child does something really wrong,then the parents may exercise some authority.Otherwise,parents should talk to their child as a soul friend to give them advice and encouragements.Punishment is not the right thing.
